I always wondered about Android. You browse the internet and the most common definition you'll find is that Android is a Linux based Operation System. It was initially designed for smart phones tablets etc. to respond to actions like swapping, tapping and what not.
Android can now be seen in Televisions as Android TV, In automobiles as Android Auto and as wrist wear kinds as Android wear.
Android based mobiles are the one of the largest selling smart phones all over the world.
There are more than a million mobiles apps that have been developed for Android based devices. When we look into such a powerful Operating System that has such a vast number of app development throughout, we can only think about the possibilities this OS can achieve.
The Android system supports background processing, provides a rich user interface library, supports 2-D and 3-D graphics using the OpenGL-ES (short OpenGL) standard and grants access to the file system as well as an embedded SQLite database.
An Android application typically consists of different visual and non visual components and can reuse components of other application.

Android was first developed and has a Linux based OS for smart phones in 2003 by a company Android Inc. Android Inc. was bought by Google in 2005 and since then Google maintains the upgrade and release of the OS under open source licenses.
Now that we talked a bit about the Android Operating System, lets come back to development. Development of Android based applications is quite popular among a lot of developers. It is, relatively speaking, easy and java based.
To start, all you need is a SDK. Developing using a SDK is much of a command line based. You create a project using command line, you run using command line etc. You can use any editor to develop code.
Now, Android also gives you an Eclipse based editor called the ADT. Another, editor option for Android will be the Android Studio.
Any of the three ways can be used for development and running your apps.
Android app development can be easy using the editors it provides. A lot of Android apps can easily be downloaded using Google play store.
Definitely, developing applications for Android will be a lot more fun and entertaining.
